INFORMATION ON THE NEW BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

Departments Hosting the Programmes:
- Department of Teacher Education is hosting eight (8) out of the nine (9) courses. They are:
- B.Ed Biology
- B.Ed Chemistry
- B.Ed Mathematics
- B.Ed Physics
- B.Ed STEM (Manufacturing)
- B.Ed STEM (Robotics)
- B.Ed STEM (Biomedical Sciences)
- B.Ed STEM (Aviation and Aerospace)
- Department of Educational Innovations in Science and Technology is hosting one (1) of the programmes, that is B.Ed Art Design and Technology
Admission Requirements: This has been submitted to your office already. However, the portion for TVET holders were inadvertently omitted and we shall be pleased if it can added. Samples of the admission required as captured in the curriculum is placed below for your perusal.
- B.Ed Art and Design Technology
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Art and Design Technology programme is designed for students who want to acquire professional competencies in Visual Arts to teach at the Junior and Senior High as well as NVTI schools.
The entry requirements for admission to the 4-Year B.Ed. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Art and Design Technology programme is as follows:
- WASSCE Holders: CREDIT (A1-C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
- SSSCE Holders: CREDIT (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
- Holders of TVET Qualifications: CREDIT in Three Core subjects including English Language and Mathematics and PASSES in Three Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
- Mature applicants who have completed Senior High School and are 25 years and above
Candidate awaiting WASSCE results can also apply.
Student teachers are expected to accumulate a minimum of 144 credits.
The student teacher must:
- fully meet the National Teachers’ Standards (NTS)
- achieve a minimum CGPA of 1.5/CWA of 50 in all courses
- successful completion of All Supported Teaching in Schools (STS) requirements
- B.Ed. Biology programme
The entry requirements for admission to the 4-Year B.Ed. Biology programme is as follows:
- WASSCE Holders: CREDIT (A1-C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
- SSSCE Holders: CREDIT (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
